Katherine Heigl is adopting a baby.

The ‘Ugly Truth’ actress and husband Josh Kelley are to become parents of a 10-month-old baby girl from Korea and have been in the process of adopting her for the past six months.

A spokesperson for Katherine confirmed: "Katherine and Josh are adopting a baby."

The little girl’s name is called Nayleigh but will be known by her nickname of Leigh.

The couple – who married in December 2007 – have wanted a baby for some time and are ecstatic their dream is coming true.

A source said: “She is thrilled. She and Josh are so happy.”

It seems Katherine was inspired to open her home to a child from Korea because her sister Meg was adopted from the country.

She previously said: "My parents adopted Meg in the '70s. I just grew up that way and she's one of my bestest friends and she's my sister, too. I just felt like I kind of want that in my family, too."

Katherine has made no secret of her desire to adopt a baby and has admitted she is unsure about having a biological child.

She said: "I'm done with the whole idea of having my own children.

"It doesn't seem like any fun. I don't think it's necessary to go through all of that."
