Sadie Frost to star in ‘Chicago’
Sadie Frost is to star in ‘Chicago’.
The actress – who recently returned to the stage in ‘Touched for the Very
First Time’ – is reportedly close to signing on to play murderess Roxie Hart
in the London West End production of the hit musical.
A source told Britain’s Closer magazine: “Sadie’s in great shape and few
people actually realise she has a great voice. She’d love the opportunity to
do the ‘Chicago’ role for a limited run, and obviously her famous pals would
all come out to support her, which would be great publicity for the show!”
The role of Roxie has previously been played by Ashlee Simpson, Denise Van
Outen, Suzanne Shaw and Jill Halfpenny.
Sadie, 43, gave up acting over 10 years ago following the birth of her three
children with then-husband Jude Law.
In 1997, she set up a production company, Natural Nylon, with fellow British
actors - Jude, Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller and Sean Pertwee and
businessman friend Damon Bryant.
Ewan and Damon left the company in 2002 and Jude resigned from his position
as director in 2003 following his divorce from Sadie. The company folded a
year later.
Sadie and friend Jemima French set up their fashion label FrostFrench in
1999.
