Jennifer Love Hewitt obtains a restraining order against a 62-year-old man
Jennifer Love Hewitt has obtained a temporary restraining order against a
62-year-old man she claims was stalking her.
The 29-year-old actress was granted the order after she
claimed the man had been fixated with her since 2007 and had even moved from
Colorado to Los Angeles to be nearer to her.
'The Ghost Whisperer' star filed a petition on December 23 in which she
alleged David Nolte had sent her more than 120 "threatening and harassing"
correspondences, "including disturbing and violent letters that reference
weapons he owns and fantasies he has wherein Hewitt is being impaled".
It is claimed some of the letters included "delusional and violent fantasies
about having sexual relations with Ms. Hewitt, marring her and impaling
her".
Jennifer also alleges Nolte sent her two plane tickets - one in her name and
one in his - to Australia, along with a planned itinerary of the trip.
Court documents show Nolte travelled to Jennifer's mother's house on
December 21 to give the star flowers and three letters which he eventually
left at the entrance of the property.
In a stated declaration included in the documents, Jennifer said: "I was
terrified when I saw Mr. Nolte, because he has sent me threatening letters
describing his sexual and violent fantasies that involve me. Seeing him at
my mother's house made me fear for my physical safety."
The protection order lasts for three years and also includes Jennifer's
mother and her ex-fiance Ross McCall, who she recently split from.
