Christina Applegate to undergo reconstructive surgery on her 37th birthday
Christina Applegate, who had a double mastectomy in July, is to undergo
reconstructive surgery on her 37th birthday.
The ‘Samantha Who’ actress – who decided to have both breasts removed after
cancer was detected in one of her breasts earlier this year – will go under
the surgeon’s knife on November 25.
She said: “I still have quite a process until this is done. Yes, it's hard.
It sucks. But I'm not a victim.”
Christina also revealed she has completely changed her perspective on life
after finding out she was fighting the deadly disease.
She added to TV Guide magazine: “I started looking for a beach house the day
I found out I had this little disease. You just kind of go, 'What are you
waiting for to get the things that you want and the things you dream of?'
“I don't own tomorrow or yesterday - today is all I've got. And if I don't
make today good, then I'm only going to be p****d off tomorrow! I'm very
much a push-through-it kind of gal. But now I don't. I speak up for myself a
lot. If I feel tired, I ask for the time that I need. I'm living such a
different life than I did before.”
Christina recently revealed she is looking forward to having the
reconstructive surgery, because she can't wait for new "cute boobs".
She bravely joked: "After looking at all the treatment plans available to me
I had a prophylactic double mastectomy. I just wanted to be rid of this
whole thing for me. This was the choice that I made, and it was a tough one.
"I'm going to have cute boobs until I'm 90. I'm going to have the best boobs
in the nursing home!"
