Amy Winehouse is set to buy a £750,000 country retreat.
The troubled singer – who has had a well-documented drug problem - is days
away from finalizing the purchase of the seven-bedroom 150-year-old house in
Suffolk, which she believes will provide the perfect location for her to
overcome her demons.
A source said: “Amy has been looking for something in the area – and this
particular place really is the ideal location.
“It is a really quiet, hidden spot where she would be away from the chaos of
her life in London and could concentrate properly on getting her life back
on track again.”
The sprawling house boasts three sitting rooms, a conservatory, stables, a
five-car garage and comes with three acres of land.
There is also a barn in the grounds which Amy is reportedly planning to turn
into a recording studio.
Amy is particularly keen on the property because it is close to Highpoint
Prison, where her husband Blake Fielder-Civil is serving his sentence for
grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.
The singer’s father Mitch is backing her plans to move.
He told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “I hope she will be very happy there.
When Blake comes out if prison the two of them are going to need somewhere
to live together.”
