Leonardo DiCaprio's grandmother, Helen Indenbirken, passed away at 93 years old in a hospital in her hometown of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, says the local paper, the Recklinghauser Zeitung.

The cause and exact date of her death wasn't published, Life & Style reports. Leo and his mother visited the ailing Helen just days before her death. The actor was often seen with his grandmother at his film premieres and in an interview with Vanity Fair, he sung her praises, saying, "She is literally gangsta, and I mean that with an 'a.' She will tell people exactly what she thinks to their face and look them in the eye."
