Brad Pitt takes son Maddox out for his seventh birthday

Brad Pitt and Maddox went gokarting near the family's 800-acre moated French home in Aix-en-Provence.

Pitt, who turned up in white vest, sunglasses and pork-pie hat, kept a close eye on his son, staying a few feet behind him as they hurtled round together.

Maddox, who was born in Cambodia, is a veteran of the track. He has been go-karting since the family moved to the south of France this year.
