Jessica Simpson's father Joe has denied reports he has a controlling
influence over the singer and her younger sister Ashlee.

He said: “The media says that I try to plan everything. But Ashlee and
Jessica don’t call me and ask me. They call me and tell me!”
Joe also said reports of him coming between Jessica and Tony were completely
untrue, adding to Us Weekly magazine: “Jessica is as happy as I’ve seen her
in years. Tony is a great guy. I love him to death. He’s just a good kid.”
