The following blind item appeared today courtesy of PageSix.com:

WHICH seemingly happy couple is hiding a horrible secret? The singer/actress is beaten regularly by her controlling hubby, who demands that everything go his way or not at all.

Who do you think it is? A few guesses after the jump.

Surprisingly, a lot of people guessed Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. I thought that was a bit odd. They've always been one of my favorite couples, so it was troubling, but then again, they are sometimes almost eerily perfect. It just doesn't seem plausible, though.

Most of the votes went to Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, but that seems too obvious and yet wrong. Skeletor is notorious for his controlling ways, but I can't see him beating a woman, especially one twice his size. She would splatter him across three states, then take him to the cleaners financially.

An intriguing guess was Madonna and Guy Ritchie, although she's the one with control issues (and was also the one spotted with a strap-on last year). She did have black eyes recently, but judging from her newly tightened face they were from surgery, not battery.

And I know I said "a few" guesses, but here's one more, included here simply because it's such a long shot: Avril Lavigne and Deryk Whibley. How ironic would it be if she were the one being kept in a cupboard under the stairs instead of the other way around, as has long been rumored.

Whoever they are, I hope she finds a way to get away from him before it's too late. Better yet, I hope this couple doesn't exist at all, and is just a figment of someone's imagination.
