Tommy Lee wins over Kimberly Stewart's father, Rod Stewart

Usually craziness isn’t the sort of character trait a father hopes for in potential dates for his daughter. But in Tommy Lee’s case, his craziness helped him to win over Rod Stewart, father of his girlfriend Kimberly Stewart. According to the Mirror’s 3AM Girls, Tommy’s over-the-top idea of picking up Kimberly for a date in his helicopter was the thing that got Rod to like him.

Tommy, 44, met 27-year-old Kimberly at Courtney Love concert earlier this month. When they hit it off, Tommy decided to impress Kimberly by renting a helicopter to pick her up for their next date. Unfortunately, he needed permission from Rod, who was not home at the time, to land on the property. A friend of Kim’s told 3AM, "She was so touched that he had made such an effort that she trekked to another airport in LA where Tommy was allowed to land.�

When Rod met Tommy this week, he seemed touched by the gesture as well. He said, "I've tried some maneuvers in my time to pursue a woman, but I've got to admit this is a pretty strong move. Attempting to land a helicopter in my garden just to impress my daughter... That is quite something!"

Kim was surprised by her father’s willingness to accept Tommy. The insider says, “Kimberly was stunned at how chivalrous her dad was being - Tommy makes her former squeezes look like choirboys in comparison."
