Lindsay Lohan to blame for scrapped movie?

In the past, Lindsay Lohan's wild behavior on movie sets has overshadowed the movies themselves (i.e., Just My Luck, Georgia Rule). Lohan's antics had never caused a movie to be canceled, though. Well, at least not until now.

Lindsay had signed on for a role in the Shirley MacLaine film, Poor Things. But according to Fontaine Beauchamp Hebb, the movie's set designer, the project was scrapped after Lindsay was seen clubbing in Las Vegas last weekend only one day after being released from rehab. It seems that Poor Thing's insurers were concerned about her potential to relapse into substance abuse.

Page Six obtained an email that Hebb had sent to product vendors that were to have their products placed in Poor Things. The email with the subject line "'Poor Things' has been cancelled," read, "Sorry to be the harbinger of bad news, but I just received a call from…the producer…Apparently, Ms. Lohan's antics in Las Vegas over the weekend have scared the bond companies and all of the funding has been pulled . . . I look forward to working together in the future and trust our next project will not be as fraught with difficulty."

A friend of Lindsay's denied the story. The source told Page Six, "She had nothing to do with that movie shutting down. It was a mess to begin with. They randomly fired Channing Tatum for Giovanni Ribisi, and then financing fell through because producers spent money like water. It was only supposed to cost $4 million - Lindsay was being paid nothing for that role. Lindsay is proving to everyone that she is - and will remain - sober by voluntarily wearing the ankle bracelet and taking drug tests. This is not about her work. It's about her being able to live her life and go out with her friends without people writing nasty items about her."
