PARIS PROVES CRIME DOES PAY

NBC will pay Paris Hilton $1 million dollars for her first sit down interview after she is released from jail, the NY Post reported.

In an attempt to retain some semblance of journalistic standards, the payment is being purported as a license fee for the use of personal video and images of Hilton. Because we are all familiar of the worldwide shortage of Paris Hilton footage and photographs!!!

NBC will give her $1 million to sit down with "Today" host Meredith Viera and talk about her time in the slammer. According to the Post's figures, the $1 million dollar fee breaks down to $43,578 for every day the fallen heiress spent behind bars at the Centruy Regional Detention Center in Lynwood.

The NY Post also reports that Hilton has struck a deal to sell her first photos to Getty Images. They will then run in People magaine along with the first frint interview, next Friday.

The Getty deal puts another $300,000 in Hilton's pocket, according to the papers sources.

People managing editor Larry Hackett said has nothing but positive words about the deal. He told the paper, "It's a fascinating story and we're thrilled to have it," and added that the appearance with Vieira will only wet the appetite for the People story.

Paris is expected to walk out of the jail as early as this weekend.
