PARIS HILTON WANTS MEDIA TO FOCUS ON TROOPS

TMZ.com posted a statement from our favorite caged heiress Paris Hilton last night. When we first got word of it, we thought "how in the heck did she write a statement when she's on suicide watch and on psychiatric drugs?" Our mouths watered thinking, "this is going to be a GOOD ONE." It wasn't all we hoped for but it's rather interesting nonetheless.

We found two points noteworthy. Paris has told her attorney's not to appeal the judge's decision and has therefore decided to do her time. She also claims to be surprised by all the media attention (because we know how much she HATES media attention) and suggests some more important issues to cover, such as U.S. troops serving in wars and overseas. No, really. She did!

Here are some excerpts:

"Today I told my attorneys not to appeal the judge's decision. While I greatly appreciate the Sheriff's concern for my health and welfare, after meeting with doctors I intend to serve my time as ordered by the judge.

"I must also say that I was shocked to see all of the attention devoted to the amount of time I would spend in jail for what I had done by the media, public and city officials.

"I would hope going forward that the public and the media will focus on more important things, like the men and women serving our country in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world."
