John Stamos apologizes for bizarre television appearance

When John Stamos started mouthing his interviewer’s lines from a teleprompter as she spoke, it was clear this was to be no ordinary television appearance. The “ER� star appeared to be intoxicated throughout his spot on an Australian talk show called “Mornings with Kerri-Ann.� He has since apologized for his behavior.

Stamos, unshaven and disheveled, seemed frenzied and fidgeted with the sleeve of his shirt throughout the interview. At one point, he lashed out at a Sydney Daily Telegraph reporter who had criticized him during his trip down under. The reporter claimed Stamos had been "bleary-eyed, staggering and slurring." Stamos then told host Kerri-Ann Kennerley that the reporter had written that “because he has a small penis.�

Stamos said that he hopes to retire to Australia one day and open a bar that has “free beer for girls.� Then he said, “I just wanna play drums.� Later, he placed a glass statue of a head over his crotch suggestively. He also made a joke about Kennerley’s outfit.

John’s rep told People, "John has been traveling extensively for the past few weeks in Greece, Egypt and Tokyo and had a difficult time adjusting to the time difference in Australia, which in turn led to many sleepless nights since his arrival. He acknowledges that his behavior was completely out of character during these interviews and apologizes."
