 | | Katie Holmes Calls the Police | | |  | Katie Holmes is making herself comfortable in Shreveport, La. reports PEOPLE magazine. Holmes, 28, is in Louisiana to film the movie Mad Money with Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton. In the comedy from Thelma & Louise scribe Callie Khouri, the women play coworkers plotting to rob the Federal Reserve Bank.
"I'm pumped," Holmes told the Times Friday night in a group interview with Khouri, Keaton and costar Ted Danson at the Eldorado Resort Casino. "I loved it from the second I read it. I love interesting female characters, and this is full of them."
"She's funny, she's smart and just a little bit misunderstood," she said. "She's involved in this crime, but she's sort of delighted to just be a part of something and have girlfriends for the first time. She's a type of person who creates a happier environment than she's actually in. ... I like that about her. She's a free spirit."
During the trip, Katie Holmes was forced to call the police, after she found herself targeted by photographers.
Holmes, spotted the photographers trailing her and asked for local police help reports SFGATE.
The authorities escorted the actress inside a Target store and then acted as her bodyguards as shopped.
A spokesman for Holmes tells Us Weekly magazine, "The (film) production office gave Katie the name of the chief of police and told her to call if she felt she needed it."
Meanwhile, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' favorite song is Kanye West's hit 'Gold Digger'.
Music producer Mark Ronson acted as DJ at their wedding and said the newlyweds went crazy on the dance floor when he played the track.
Mark revealed to Britain's Star magazine: "It was actually a really sweet wedding.
"I know there's a cynical attitude towards it and I wanted to got here thinking that, too, but as soon as I saw them together, they are genuinely in love.
"Who knows what happened after that, but that night they seemed very happy.
"They both went crazy when Kanye's 'Gold Digger' came on."
The couple married last November in front of more than 150 star-studded guests at Italy's Odescalchi Castle, in Lake Bracciano.
