Reese Witherspoon has had fashion makeover following her split from Ryan
Phillippe.
The Oscar-winning mother-of-two, who filed for divorce in October, has
followed the advice of Nina Ricci designer Olivier Theyskens and cleaned out
her closet.
Reese told Harper's Bazaar magazine: "I've used a stylist before, but these
days I'm kind of just going with Olivier's taste.
"At the Golden Globes this year I felt like I looked different than I've
ever looked."
The actress has also purged her wardrobe of unwanted fashion items -
admitting she often gets too immersed in her film characters, and that is
reflected in her style.
The 30-year-old 'Walk the Line' star confessed: "I recently put a big pile
of clothes on the floor of my closet, and I looked at a lot of the stuff and
thought, 'That's not me at all. What was I thinking?'
"For 'Legally Blonde' I went through a pink phase like you wouldn't believe.
"Then there was a Marni phase when I was doing 'Sweet Home Alabama' that was
out of control."
In other news, Reese Witherspoon has backed out of a big movie in which she was slated to produce and star, TMZ.com reports.
The movie, "Bunny Lake Is Missing," was to be a remake of Otto Preminger's 1965 film about a woman whose daughter disappears from a nursery school. Cops then try to convince the woman that her daughter was a figment of her imagination.
Reports circulated that Witherspoon did not feel emotionally invested in the film, that her psyche was fragile after her divorce from Ryan Phillippe. But a Hollywood source tells TMZ the problem had nothing to do with emotions.
Witherspoon exercised her option not to approve the script and withdrew as the star of the project.
