Nicole Kidman spends Valentine's solo

Nicole Kidman didn't have her husband's company on Valentine's Day. Keith Urban was in Toronto doing a morning TV show, then interviews all day promoting his new album, and then an industry/media showcase reports Page Six. Canadian columnist Shinan Govani tells Page Six that Urban, who was wearing his wedding ring, was "kinda rockin' - he definitely had a Jon Bon Jovi thing onstage." And when an overzealous female fan started acting up, Urban one-lined, "You started drinking way too early this morning, didn't you?"

Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman gives Katie Holmes parenting advice.
Katie became stepmother to Nicole's adopted children, Isabella and Conor,
when she married Nicole's ex-husband Tom Cruise, and the two actresses
consult on their upbringing reports Female First.
A source said: "Katie was having lunch with friends in Beverly Hills when
Isabella rang her to talk to her about a party she was going to.
"Katie said, 'That was Bella. She wants to wear a dress to a birthday party
but I think it is much too grown up for her. But she says her mother
approves. So I need to check with Nicole.'
"Then after she'd made the call to Nicole she told her friends, 'Nicole
agrees with me. The dress is all wrong. The drama of it all! If I've learned
one thing about teenagers, it's that little things mean a lot.' "
Katie - who has a nine-month-old daughter, Suri, with Tom - is keen to be a
good mother to Isabella, 14, and 12-year-old Conor, and wants to earn their
love and respect herself.
A source told Britain's Hello magazine: "She didn't want the children to
respect her only because Tom told them to, but rather because they wanted
to.
"Nicole is actually a big fan of Katie's. She thinks Katie is doing an
amazing job of stepping up to the plate.
"Katie's always there for Isabella and Connor, as she is with the new baby."

In other news, country singer Keith Urban paid tribute to his wife, Australian actress Nicole Kidman, on Friday for the support she gave him as he was treated for alcohol dependency last year reports Ruters.

Urban checked into the Betty Ford Clinic for alcohol abuse last October, just four months after a lavish, beach-side wedding to the Hollywood star.

Urban, 39, who had spent time in rehabilitation 1998 after battling drug and alcohol problems, said he knew he was spiraling out of control again and needed help.

"It is nothing to do with contentedness and happiness because I had all of that," Urban told NBC television's "Today" show in what was billed as his first television interview since ending his three-month stint in rehab.

"I wasn't doing what I should be doing to maintain the road that I was on previously. ... It just became time. I could see where it was going."
