'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' hits stores on July 21

The final Harry Potter book will hit stores on July 21.

Publisher Bloomsbury confirmed 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' - the seventh and final
book in series - will go on sale this summer.

The book will be available to buy from midnight and huge queues are expected.

Ever since the first in the series - 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's
Stone' - was released ten years ago, subsequent books have been met with
frenzied excitement.
Author JK Rowling has warned fans to expect some sinister shocks, including
the deaths of two main characters.
She said: "We are dealing with pure evil here. They don't target extras, do
they? They go for the main characters - well, I do."
Thousands of fans are already placing orders for the book online, even
though there are still six months to go.
Christopher North, head of books at amazon.co.uk said: "Demand is already
incredible for the final book. July 21 will be Harry Potter day all over the
world."

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the No. 1 seller on Amazon and Barnes & Noble a day after they began taking pre-orders for the book. The web retailers are also listing a deluxe edition of the book, which has a $65 list price, as the No. 2 seller reports Star Magazine

"I can confirm she did write some of the book at the Balmoral last month and did complete the book at that hotel," the author's spokeswoman, Nicky Stonehill, said.

The hotel said it does not encourage guests to write on hotel property, but Rowling is a special case.

"Obviously this is quite a unique case," hotel spokeswoman Jessica Trotter said. "We're honored and flattered she chose the Balmoral as surroundings to do her writing."

The Potter books have sold 325 million copies worldwide, have been translated into 64 languages and spawned five blockbuster movies.

This is the 10th anniversary of the first book of the hugely successful series being published.

Wayne Winstone, children's manager for Waterstone's book store, said: "Not only will this be the biggest selling book, it will also break all records to become the fastest selling book of all time."

"There are not many people who want to wait to find out what happens and risk hearing the news from their friends."
