ABC working on "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off
When a network has one of the country's most popular TV shows, it's only natural for them to try to come up with a way to make more money off the show's success. That's just what ABC is doing. The Walt Disney Company-owned network is working on a spin-off of the hit medical drama, "Grey's Anatomy." The new show will center on Kate Walsh's character, neonatal surgeon, Dr. Addison Shepherd. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the spin-off will show Shepherd deciding to leave "Grey's Anatomy's" Seattle Grace Hospital for a new location. Also starring in the new series will be another ABC cast-off, Taye Diggs. Diggs was the star of mid-season replacement show, "Day Break." The two-hour pilot episode of the new show, which will be written by "Grey's" creator, Shonda Rhimes, is expected to air in May. Rhimes is also working on another pilot, which has been pushed back until the summer in order to move up the "Grey's" spin-off. |
