Jessica Simpson and John Mayer take Manhattan

Jessica Simpson and John Mayer's New Year's resolution is fairly obvious. They've decided to stop hiding their relationship. The pair, who have been linked since August, spent New Year's Eve together in NYC. According to the New York Daily News, Jessica and John are even sharing a hotel room at the Mercer.

NYDN reports that Mayer and Simpson were "full-on making out" at the Hudson Hotel on New Year's, where they arrived at 2:10 am, according to People magazine. Fellow popstar Christina Aguilera was hosting the Hudson Hotel party, which John and Jessica attended for about 40 minutes. A partygoer said, "John was scratching her back, they were kissing, it wasn't subtle."

The lovebirds have been painting the town red the past few days, hitting Barney's for some shopping, the Comedy Cellar for some laughs, and the Mercer Kitchen, Country and Dos Caminos for meals. When they noshed at Dos Caminos, an onlooker told People, "They were very flirty, obviously so engaged with each other." The manager of the Comedy Cellar said, "They were friendly. They were talking to everybody."

John had done a routine at the Comedy Cellar a few days before his visit there with Jessica. His Christmas gift to his new gal proves that he's quite the jokester. A source for NYDN said it was "a framed copy of the Us Weekly cover that says 'Dumped: John ditches Jessica.'"
