Luke Wilson Loves Jessica Simpson

Luke Wilson will star with Jessica Simpson in "Blonde Ambition."

"Blonde Ambition," is a loose remake of the 1988 Melanie Griffith classic "Working Girl." "It's going to be Jessica Simpson's next film," said producer (and former "Malcolm in the Middle" star) Justin Berfield. "It's basically about a young woman's journey into the corporate empire. She starts at the bottom and works her way to the top." The flick will offer the singer/actress her first leading role, as she steps into a character that landed Griffith an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. "The second we got the script, we just knew we had to go to her first, and fortunately she fell in love with the script as well," Berfield remembered. Andy Dick is in discussions to play an "evil" secretary. "Blonde Ambition" begins filming November 27 in Shreveport, Louisiana, and is aiming for a summer release.

The news comes a few weeks after , Luke Wilson reportedly slammed Jessica Simpson.

In September, Jessica claimed that she was “preparing � for the inevitable November tabloid covers that would link her to Wilson when she starts filming a role as his love interest in “Blonde Ambition.� she told Jimmy Kimmel, “I’m going into doing another movie with Luke Wilson called ‘Blonde Ambition!’�

But a rep for Wilson told Star at the time, “This project is in talks.� What’s more, a source told the tab, “Luke Wilson will never do a movie with Jessica Simpson.�

The insider suggested that Jessica Simpson’s manager dad Joe Simpson has been exaggerating prospects for the flick. “Joe is telling Jessica he’s getting big stars,� says the source. “Joe’s been working on it for months. It’ll end up having a bunch of nobodies if it happens. He was trying to get Meg Ryan to be the Sigourney Weaver character. It’s such a joke. He’s been sending out half-written scripts with personal letters to stars asking them to be in it.�
