Kevin Federline feels underrated as a rap star.
The fledgling rapper - who is married to Britney Spears - has said that while everyone is always talking about him, they don't give his music the attention it deserves.

"If you want to hate me, cool, hate me," Federline, 28, tells PEOPLE in its new issue. "You know why? Because all it's going to do is help me."

In other interview, Federline told Entertainment Weekly: "I'm the most talked-about of anyone over the last couple of years."
When asked to name the most underrated performer in rap, Federline paused and then said, "Me."

The former dancer also revealed he has overcome the embarrassment of buying female hygiene products for his wife.
He said: "I used to be embarrassed to go to the store and buy tampons, but that's all past tense. Once you make it through that, then you're good."
Kevin's debut album 'Playing With Fire' was recently branded a "joke" by the hip-hop community.

In addition to his career, family plays a main role in Federline's life reports People Magazine. He's is a father of four; he and his ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson have two children, Kori, 4, and Kaleb, 2. His first child with Spears, Sean Preston, is a year old, and on Sept. 12 Spears gave birth to their second son, Jayden James.

With each birth, "it gets less and less stressful," says Federline. Still, it's fatherhood that has made him restless, intent on wrestling with his dreams of stardom.

"It's just time to get my stuff down while they're young," he says, "so I can sit back and watch them grow up."
