HRCC wants Madonna's son David Banda to be poor
Madonna is under fire in Britain and Africa for her plans to adopt an African toddler. In Africa, the Human Rights Consultative Committee (HRCC), a grouping of 67 human rights NGOs in Malawi, tells PEOPLE they hope to halt Madonna's adoption of a 13-month old baby boy for the moment. Justin Dzonzi, HRCC's chairman, says the group wants to make sure Malawi's laws "are not bent" for the 48-year-old singer. "The laws of Malawi are clear that if one wants to adopt a child one has to stay with the child for at least 18 months for assessment," he said. "Madonna and her legal counsel have been working on her plans to adopt a baby from Malawi for quite some time. She had hoped to keep this very private and a family matter, but things didn't go that way," the singer's spokeswoman, Liz Rosenberg, tells PEOPLE. "I was not made aware of many of the chapters in this ongoing process. Hopefully Madonna and family will soon be reunited once everything goes through." And Madonna's local lawyer in Malawi, Alan Chinula, told PEOPLE: "I have no instructions yet from my clients; what I have done is to file the adoption papers … if some people want to challenge it (the adoption process) we will deal with that later." Meanwhile in the UK, Critics dismiss Madonna as a selfish star who could do much more to ease world poverty. Madonna, 48, who has a family home in London, left Malawi on a private plane Friday after a judge granted her an 18-month interim order allowing her to take David Banda, the son of an illiterate farmer, out of the country.
A judge at Lilongwe High Court is now set to review the papers signed by Mr Banda. Davie's mum died of childbirth complications a month after he was born. Mr Banda said he met Madonna and Ritchie at the court as part of the formalities. "They are a lovely couple. She asked me many questions," he said. "She and her husband seem happy with David. I am happy for him. "Madonna promised me that as the child grows she will bring him back to visit." |

I agree with you. I am sure the government and high court will do nothing about it.

What does this photo have to do with Madonna and Guy Ritchie's pending adoption?
What is the point of showing this completely unrelated photo in connection with adopting a child? What possible reason could there be for doing something so stupid?

Growing up as an Orphan I dont see the point of critising Madonna on her David adoption. It is really difficult growing up in such a state.
What these Malawian NGO's are saying is Nonsense. What has Justin Dzonzi or his NGO done to the poor apart from enriching themselves in their name? Please give us a course.
David has a right to live and to be educated. With the adoption this will be guaranteed.
