Paris to be arraigned for DUI charges Thursday
Paris Hilton’s party girl behavior has caught up with her. She has been charged with driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher - two misdemeanors - the Los Angeles city attorney's spokesperson Frank Mateljan confirmed to People magazine. The charges are in connection with her arrest on September 7. Hilton is scheduled to be arraigned at 8:30 am on Thursday, though she is not obligated to be in attendance at the hearing. The 25-year-old socialite faces a maximum punishment of a $1,000 fine and/or six months in jail. Paris was pulled over around 12:30 am on September 7 after, according to LAPD officer Martha Garcia, she was seen "driving erratically." A Breathalyzer showed that she had a blood alcohol level of 0.08, the minimum required to be arrested for DUI in California. Hilton claims that she only had one margarita that night. |
