Paris downplays her arrest
Paris Hilton and her rep Elliott Mintz are on spin patrol after the heiress was arrested for DUI early on Thursday morning. Both Mintz and Hilton were doing their best to downplay the incident in the media Thursday and Friday.
Hilton had the minimum blood-alcohol level to warrant an arrest, .08 percent. She claims she had one margarita before getting into her car, but her story seems unlikely. The AP reports, “According to a national research study, a 137-pound woman would need to consume three drinks in one hour on an empty stomach to reach a .08 blood-alcohol level. The 5-foot-8-inch fashionably lithe Hilton likely weighs much less than that. Mintz went to the New York Daily News to plead his client’s case. He says, "[Paris] regrets what happened. She did not take this matter lightly or frivolously. She had never been arrested before, and it was clearly humiliating and disorienting. Paris regrets getting behind the wheel with even one drink. She had not eaten all day. She was a little weak. She left the event intending to go to In-N-Out Burger. She is a big fan of fast food." |
