Aaron Carter and Playboy model end engagement

It just might make records as one of the shortest celebrity engagements of all times. 18-year-old Aaron Carter and his fiancée of six days, 22-year-old Playboy model Kari Ann Peniche have called it quits.

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest for E! News, Aaron said, "I made the mistake and she made a mistake too. We both did." Aaron’s rep told People magazine, "He's young and got caught up in the moment. He hopes they can be friends."

Kari Ann also spoke to People. She said, "[Aaron’s] really young and just needs to get his act together. I don't know what's going on right now. We're friends and maybe we'll get back together sometime. We haven't ruled out getting back together." She says that they broke up on Friday and that it was a "mutual decision."

Last week Carter proposed to Peniche in front of 200 audience members during the Playboy Comedy Tour in Las Vegas. He had only known Peniche for five days.
