| Pete Doherty rejects junkie mates |
Troubled rocker Pete Doherty, is so desperate to beat his addiction he banned his junkie mates from a festival he was appearing at reports Daily Mirror.
The 27-year-old was on a special licence from The Priory clinic where he's being treated for his crack and heroin addictions.
He was allowed out for two hours to perform at the Get Loaded Festival In The Park in London's Clapham Common but had three clinic staff by his side at all times.
Pete and his minders were determined to keep his junkie mates arms length. The Babyshambles frontman, who thanked the Priory on stage for letting him out, had given security advance warning that his pals may try to get in.
Pete's girlfriend Kate Moss, 32, has told the rocker to clean up his act and get rid of his druggie mates or else face losing her again. A close pal tells us: "The last thing Pete wants is to risk losing Kate as she means everything to him. Even if that means ditching his mates.
"But finally it seems Pete might be getting some sense."
Some of the singer's pathetic hangerson did manage to sneak past security but were quickly kicked out.
Meanwhile, BABYSHAMBLES have reportedly signed a whopping £1 million ($2.5 million) record deal reports news.com.au
Pete Doherty's new clean-living lifestyle has impressed record bosses - and execs at Parlophone have signed up the band.
A friend of Pete told The Daily Mirror: "He's over the moon because The Beatles were with Parlophone."
The source continued: "That means a lot to him.
"The band can't wait to get their new music on the shelves.
"It's a very exciting time because a lot of record labels were after them, but in the end they got the best deal money-wise and album-wise with Parlophone."
