Jennifer Lopez has dropped out of 'Dallas' movie.
The Latin actress - who was set to play JR Ewing's troubled wife Sue Ellen
in the adaptation of 70's cult drama - has reportedly quit the project.

Lopez’s representative Leslie Sloane Zelnick confirms that Lopez has dropped out. “She’s out of Dallas,� Zelnick tells American publication Star.

Dallas is shaping up to be a troubled project. Earlier this year, Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde) quit the project citing “creative differences� and was reportedly unhappy with casting choices.

Bend It Like Beckham's Gurinda Chadha is now to direct the film.

The delayed casting for the part of glamorous Lucy Ewing has also caused
mayhem among young Hollywood actresses.
The desirable role finally went to US TV actress Katie Cassidy, despite
Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson allegedly competing for the part.

The part went to Katie Cassidy, who stars in US family drama 7th Heaven.

Despite recent turmoil, the film has kept its biggest star so far - John
Travolta, who stars as JR Ewing .

In other development news, Shirley MacLaine is in negotiations to star as Ewing family matriarch Miss Ellie while Luke Wilson is rumored to be taking on the role of Bobby Ewing.
