Jessica Simpson wants to make one last attempt at reconciliation from Nick Lachey

Jessica Simpson will host the 2006 Teen Choice Awards
Broadcaster FOX announced yesterday (11.07.06) the 'Dukes of Hazzard'
actress will front the awards ceremony, but remained tight-lipped about her
co-host.

The event celebrates teenagers' favourite film, television, music, sport and
fashion stars. Winners are presented with a surfboard.
The 26-year-old blonde has been nominated for the Choice Hottie Female award
and also for the Choice Movie Breakout Performance for her role in 'Dukes of
Hazzard'.
Jessica's wardrobe has also been recognised - she is up for the Choice Red
Carpet Fashion Icon Female prize, which she won last year.
Other awards categories include Choice Movie Action and Choice Music Album.
Her estranged husband Nick Lachey will also be at the ceremony - he is
nominated in the Choice Hottie Male category. The couple divorced last month
after three years of marriage.
Lachey is rumoured to be dating Vanessa Minnillo - who has been nominated
for the Choice TV Personality Female accolade.
The eighth annual Teen Choice Awards will take place on August 20.
Simpson's next album 'A Public Affair' is released next month and her new
film 'Employee of the Month' will hit our screens in September.

In other news, Jessica Simpson wants to make one last attempt at reconciliation from Nick Lachey before their divorce was final, according to the forthcoming issue of Star magazine.

“Nick reminded her that it was she - not him — who initiated the divorce,� a source told the tab. “It wasn’t an easy conversation — Jess was very emotional. But Nick was relieved when he got word the divorce had been finalized. It’s easy to see why.�
