'Toxic' singer Britney Spears Breaks Down

Pop tart, Britney Spears says her marriage to rapper Kevin Federline is "awesome," and scrutiny from the paparazzi has made her an "emotional wreck."

The 'Toxic' singer opens her heart about her allegedly failing marriage in an interview due to be shown on US TV this Thursday (15.06.06).

The star tells Matt Lauer from NBC's 'The Today Show' that she finds the constant rumors about the demise of her marriage "sad" because she "thinks everyone should be pro-love".

Before Lauer could delve any deeper, Spears started to well up about the way the press have portrayed her as a bad mother.

Britney, who is pregnant with the couple's second child, attacked the constant intrusions into her private life - specifically referring to when she was photographed driving with baby son Sean Preston on her lap.

She fumed: "I can't go anywhere without someone judging me. I did it with my dad. I'd sit on his lap and I'd drive. We're country. I know I'm a good mother."

"I think 90 percent of the world would agree that the tabloids have kind of gone a little far with me lately," Britney added.

The singer said she feels like a target. Asked what she would say to the paparazzi as individuals, she says: "You have a life. And if you don't, you have to realize that we're people and that we . . . just need privacy and we need our respect. And those are things that you have to have as a human being."

Britney - who has sold around 85 million albums - married Kevin in September 2004 and they had their first child almost exactly a year later.
He already has two children - Kori and Kaleb - with ex-girlfriend actress Shar Jackson.

Spears and Federline have not been publicly photographed together since March 25, triggering rumors that the couple is having marital problems.
