Lindsay Lohan may have called her new album “Raw, but when it comes to opening up about her personal life, she’d rather things stay a little more tame. The actress is fuming over the headline-making article about her in the current issue of Vanity Fair, which claims that she struggled with bulimia. Lohan alleges that the article’s writer, Evgenia Peretz, “misconstrued her words.
Peretz quotes Lohan as stating, "I was making myself sick…I knew I had a problem and I couldn't admit it." Lindsay also mentions an intervention of sorts held by Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels of “Saturday Night Live before her appearance on the show in May. They told her, “You need to take care of yourself. We care about you too much, and we've seen too many people do this. In the article, Peretz claims Lohan was "referring to bulimic episodes."
On Tuesday, Lindsay released a statement to Teen People about her reaction to the article. It reads, "The words that I gave to the writer for Vanity Fair were misused and misconstrued, and I'm appalled with the way it was done. Aside from [the writer's] lies and changing of my words, I am blessed to have this job and wonderful family that I do.
Meanwhile, Vanity Fair released its own statement. "Evgenia Peretz is one of our most reliable reporters. Every word Lindsay Lohan told her is on tape. Vanity Fair stands by the story."
