it's unfortunate that our process has taken so long and that is something we certainly have to address. we need to make the punishment more quickly follow the crime. so the cause-effect is more clear to everyone.

i would argue that some politician stepping in during the last few minutes to commute a murder's sentence undermines the process we have in place to deal with the most violent criminals in the United States.

However, I am against the death penalty, life in prison is more suitable. I also feel that the justice system in the U. S. is not seen the same way for African Americans as it is for others, we have seen the devils teeth. Example, Harold Wilson-PA, who was exonerated ffor killing three people when racial discrimination was used during jury selection. The fact that new information has come forward wich may exonerate Mr. Williams from this heinous crime is cause for a retrial.
