Mayer phones West |

Almost everyone has given their phone number to someone and then later regretted it. Maybe the guy you met at a club seemed normal and then when he called you he spoke in a baby voice. Or perhaps that girl who you ran into from high school now calls non-stop until you're forced to pick up the phone. If Kanye West hadn't changed his phone number, his calling pest would likely have been John Mayer. According to Page Six, Mayer had been leaving numerous voicemails on a number he thought belonged to West. Mayer and West had been collaborating on a track for West's sophomore album, Late Registration, but the track did not make the cut. Perhaps trying to make it on a future effort of Kanye's, John left up to 10 messages a day for Kanye, including one in which he rapped about how great Kanye is. Unfortunately for Mayer, West had changed his number and an LA publicist received the messages instead. "It was hilariously bad," said a source who had heard the rap message. This comes as little surprise, considering the message came from the brilliant lyricist who penned "Your Body is a Wonderland."
