Pop Diva, Madonna stole the show at Thursday's MTV Europe awards in Lisbon, opening the show from a giant glitter ball.
Wearing a skimpy purple leotard and 20,000 worth of sparkling diamonds on
her eyelashes, the star wowed the crowd with a dazzling performance of "Hung Up."
Speaking to Reuters after the first live televised performance of the new single, the 47-year-old American said "After I fell off my horse it was amazing to be able to get up and dance."
The singer cracked three ribs and broke her collar bone and a hand when she fell off her horse in August at her English country estate.
"Being in front of all the people, waiting for it to come up, and waiting to see the audience, my heart was just pumping out of my chest," Madonna said.
Robbie - who also gave a show-stopping performance of 'Tripping' - saw off
top stars like Eminem and Moby to win Best Male.
Despite his success the singer confessed he is still troubled.
He admitted: "I'm a great bunch of guys. I don't know who I'm going to wake
up with in the morning."
Best Female category went to Colombian-born Shakira, Snoop Dogg won Best
Hip-Hop and Best Pop went to the Black Eyed Peas.
Live 8 organiser Bob Geldof drew huge cheers when Madonna presented him with
the Free Your Mind award for his efforts to stamp out world poverty.
The event was emceed by Ali G creator Sacha Baron Cohen, in the guise of his politically incorrect Kazakhstani alter ego, Borat Sagdiyev reports People Magazine
