Dita von Teese is a high-class burlesque star who has appeared at private functions for Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin, Marc Jacobs, In Style Magazine, Spike TV, Maxim Magazine, MTV; she also featured in the televised New Years Eve and wedding party for Ozzie and Sharon.
She is said to have spent her youth fantasizing about attaining the classic Hollywood glamour of Betty Grable, Rita Hayworth and Hedy Lamarr. Playboy Magazine said of her: "Not since Bettie Page has a fetish model inspired such passion as cover-girl Dita Von Teese."
Madame von Teese has New Yorkers all atwitter because on October 20th at the New York Academy of Art's "Take Home a Nude" benefit, she will perform in her lovely birthday suit, accessorized by nothing more than $5 million worth of diamonds, including history's first pair of diamond pasties and a diamond G-string designed by Susan Rosen. The auction will take place at Phillips de Pury; among the works on the block is a self-portrait by super-artist Heidi Klum. (By Scott Rose)
