When we reported back on September 29 that Ashton Kutcher did not invite his twin brother Michael to his secret wedding to Demi Moore, we quoted Michael's ex-wife Melissa: "I've always felt that Demi thinks Ashton's family is working class and uneducated and not sophisticated enough to be around," Melissa said. According to Ashton's mother Diane, though, Melissa was the reason that Michael was not included in the event. Diane told Star magazine, "We were determined to keep the wedding a secret and we thought the best way we could do that was to keep Melissa out of the loop. Michael was invited, [but his not going] was a favor to Ashton from a loving brother." Still, a source close to the couple says Diane's explanation is all spin. "Demi is a control freak. I think she didn't want Michael at their wedding because she feels he was always a naysayer about their relationship," the insider says. "Demi's way of bonding Ashton to her family, is to get him to loosen the bonds he has to his own!" Sure enough, Ashton seems closer than ever to Demi and her daughters, who call him MOD (my other dad). But when's the last time we saw a picture of Kutcher with his twin, huh?
