Demi and Ashton's fake wedding |
Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore have been "married" for almost two weeks and yet their publicists have still not confirmed that they are now husband and wife. What is going on here? The latest news on the couple's wedding is that it may not be "kosher." A similar rumor spread in 2004 when Britney Spears married Kevin Federline without a legal marriage certificate. The kink in Dashton's plan is a little different: their marriage (if it indeed took place) is legal, but perhaps not in the eyes of their chosen religion. The Kabbalah converts enlisted pal, Eitan Yardeni, a rabbi for the Kabbalah Centre, to officiate their wedding. But according to a Rick Ross of Cultnews.com, "From my research, it appears that Yardeni is a rabbi only because the head of the Kabbalah Centre said, 'You are a rabbi.' That doesn't mean that the marriage isn't legal - but it sure isn't kosher!" Traditional Kabbalah can only be practiced by real rabbis, thus, neither Ashton or Demi (both non-Jews) would be able to participate in the religion under its original rules.
