Rest in Peace, Julius Caruso
|
It is with a heavy heart that The Bosh announces the passing of celebrity hair stylist Julius Caruso. Mr. Caruso for long had a salon at 72 East 55th Street near Park Avenue as well as a salon in Southampton where he met many of his celebrity customers. Among his clients were Ann Sheridan, Joan Rivers, Hugh Downs and members of the Ford, Vanderbilt and Rockefeller families. His daughter Aurora says: "Marilyn Monroe used to come into the beauty salon. My father would spend hours putting her hair in rollers and fixing her hair, and then she would put her hands in her hair and just mess it up as much as she could. My father would say, 'I just spent two hours trying to get her to look like a lady.'" Even if Julius Caruso could not get Marilyn Monroe to act and look like a lady, he will be dearly missed.
