Photographer, Brad Diaz was shot in the leg outside a home where he believed Britney Spears was attending a bridal shower Saturday evening.
Sheriff Lt. Steve Smith said, it was unclear who fired the BB gun as Diaz was staking out the event at the Malibu home.
"It could've been somebody driving by, walking by, we have no idea where it came from," Smith said.
He said firefighters bandaged Brad's leg and he went to a hospital.
Smith originally said the home belonged to Spears, but said deputies later learned that it belonged to someone else and that Spears is a frequent guest.
Spears, 23, whose presence in Malibu has not been confirmed, is due to give birth this autumn.
