Dick Clark to come back to New Year's |

When Dick Clark was absent from "New Year's Rockin' Eve" last December 31, it seemed like the end of an era. The world's oldest teenager had been hosting the show practically since television was invented. But due to a stroke he suffered earlier that month, he was unable to lead the countdown for the ball drop in Times Square. Luckily for the country's collective nostalgia, Clark will be back this year and Ryan Seacrest will join him as co-host. "It will be good to be back in New York again for New Year's and I'm elated that Ryan has agreed to join me in ushering in New Year's," Clark said in a statement. For those of you Seacrest-haters out there, it doesn't look like the "American Idol" host is going away any time soon. His agreement for "New Year's Rockin' Eve" makes him successor to Clark when the 75-year-old finally steps down.
