Did you know that Paris Hilton's beau, Paris Latsis, was born Paris Kasidokostas? Star mag reports his father, a former water-skiing instructor, was married only briefly to his mother, shipping heiress Marianna Latsis.

- The first successful business venture of Paris's grandfather John Latsis was to rid the island of Rhodes of rats.
- In the 1950s John Latsis was named European representative for the United Molasses Company of Egypt. He started to build his shipping empire by offering cheap pilgrimages to Mecca.
At the time of his death in 2003, he was worth approximately $7.5 billion.
