Last week, Jessica and Ashlee Simpson weren't let in to Lindsay Lohan's MTV Movie Awards after party. The gossip columns buzzed days later with the rumor that the dis infuriated Jessica, who threatened to kick Lohan's ass. By the end of the week, both In Touch and US Weekly were using the resulting feud as their cover story. But how did they hear about it? According to Radar magazine, the story may have come from Jessica's father and manager, Joe Simpson. One top editor revealed to Radar, "Joe called our head offices himself and ranted and raved about it. It was obvious he wanted to paint Lindsay as a bitch. He couldn't believe anyone would dare ban Jessica from any party because, as he said, 'She's a huge superstar.'... Joe will do anything to make sure she's in the papers every week and he knows Lindsay's an easy target." Unfortunately, Joe's tips didn't end up painting Lindsay as the sole bad guy and Jessica had to issue statements ensuring that she and the teen queen were still on good terms. "I guess [everyone] got tired of making up stories about me and Nick and decided to create some other kind of drama," she said.
