There was no shortage of stunning beauties on hand for the annual ASCAP pop music awards at the Beverly Hilton hotel on May 16. Janet Jackson, Merketa Janska, Valerie Simpson and Vonda Shepard were all there, and all radiant as ever.

So why were Jessica and Ashlee Simpson no shows, though they had been expected? Did they have to practice their lip-synching? Did Nick finally give a shit about what these girls do, and they had to clean it up afterwards?

Star magazine reports that Jessica and Ashlee had disgusting cases of Montezuma's revenge after they shared a dish at a Mexican eatery, and that the pop princesses spent the evening of the ASCAPs on their thrones, letting it all hang out in that inimitable "I have food poisoning" style.
