Lindsay Lohan at De Beers Party |

Marking its retail launch in New York City, the De Beers diamond company held a fabulous party last Tuesday in an apartment worth $32 million in the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle. Beyond Naomi Campbell and Paris Hilton, guests included the socialites Muffie Potter Aston, Susan Fales-Hill and Marjorie Gubelmann Raein. No way any of those gals are going to kiss anybody alternately on both cheeks if she doesn't have three snobby-sounding names. The British Earl Rufus Albermarle was also present to enjoy the food which, catered by Thomas Keller of the restaurant Per Se, included a Gulf shrimp Eclair a la Mousse de Crevettes et Fines Herbes. If you can't pronounce it, they won't let you eat it. Describing the social landscape at the party, Guy Clark, a De Beers jewelry expert said "There are women here who would buy a $10,000 ring and forget about it in a week." Would that be because they have Alzheimer's? (By Scott Rose)
