CBS axes "Arcadia" |

In a move that's sure to anger alterna-teens across the country (but not incite them to action - these are their apathetic years, remember?), CBS has decided to cancel the show "Joan of Arcadia". "Joan", which was welcomed with rave reviews into the CBS schedule in 2003, had suffered poor ratings this past season possibly due to a change in the show's focus. The program centered around a teenage girl, played by "General Hospital" alum Amber Tamblyn, who spoke to God. But as Joan's family started stealing the spotlight from her, other networks stole the show's younger viewers. Also canned by CBS were "Judging Amy", which aired for 6 years, and "60 Minutes Wednesday". On the way are several new dramas, 3 of which are predictably crime-centered and 2 have a sci-fi focus. New stars for the new shows include Jenna Elfman, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Charles Dutton, Carla Gugino, Stockard Channing and Henry Winkler.
