Pop Star Britney Spears appeared with husband Kevin Federline on "Ellen" Tuesday to plug their new reality series "Chaotic." A visibly pregnant Britney Spears revealed that she proposed to Kevin Federline 11 months ago but he said no.
"Actually, I was a little rejected at first. I kind of got slapped down," Spears said on the syndicated morning talk show. She and Federline, a 27-year-old former backup dancer, married last September.
Federline said he felt it was up to the man to propose -- which prompted Spears to mutter, "Whatever."
"I told her that it's not right for the woman to ask the man. The man's supposed to get on one knee and do it right," Federline said. "It took me about five minutes, and then I turned around and asked her."
Federline asked Spears to marry him a few minutes after she proposed and she said yes.
Spears said the best part of being married is being pregnant, though Federline said the best part for him is making up after fights.
MTV announced Tuesday that the network will re-air the shows on Thursdays, beginning May 26 (10 p.m. ET).
