Arrested Development to return |

In a move that proves that not all TV executives are insane, Fox has decided to renew the critically-acclaimed, Emmy winning series, "Arrested Development" rather than taking on a second season of "The Littlest Groom". Many fans worried about the show's status after its ratings went down in the second season from an average of 6.1 millions viewers to 5.8 million. Websites and petitions were created to keep the sitcom, one of the last truly innovative shows of the genre on network television, from the fate of other well-reviewed Fox programs like "Wonderfalls" and "Skin". Fox president Peter Liguori trivialized the network's difficult and ongoing choice over whether or not to keep the program when he said, "The decision to order another season becomes easy when you consider ["Arrested Development's"] amazing cast, creative brilliance, critical acclaim and advertiser appeal."
