Barking Up The Wrong Tree
|
There was not much public sentiment in favor of Martha Stewart going to jail in the first place; nowm those enforcing the terms of her 'home detention' seem hell-bent on winning an award for absurdity. Martha had to petition the judge to increase her number of work hours from 48 to 80. Her electronic monitoring anklet is giving her dermatitis. And after she was spotted eating at Richshaw Dumpling Bar in New York City, retired Judge Eugene R. Sullivan ahd this to say. "If you deviate from your route to and from your workplace, you better have permission or you're playing with fire. In my view, the home detention program is a privilege, and it should not be abused by any unauthorized social dinners." The Bosh wants to know if Martha Stewart's eating at Rickshaw Dumpling Bar can in any way be construed as constituting a menace to society, and if not, why can't those involved in Martha's continued monitoring not be put to better use?
