Update - New York Times reports a 24-year-old man was in custody tonight at the Ulster Police Department after a gunman opened fire with an "assault-type rifle" this afternoon in the Hudson Valley Mall in Kingston, N.Y., law-enforcement officials said. State Police Capt. Wayne Olson said the gunman, believed to be acting alone, fired "a significant number" or rounds, hitting one person. Two people were being treated at local hospitals for injuries related to the shooting, Chief Paul Watzka of the Ulster Police Department said in a news conference this evening. One person suffered a leg wound, just above the knee, he said. The other sustained a hand injury, but apparently was not hit by gunfire. - MORE VIA New York Times.
